We offer a warm congratulations to Royal Conservatoire of Scotland student, Tom Macfadyen, a winner of the Mediaspec Award for Excellence Program.
Tom Macfadyen is a composer/audio-visual artist based in Glasgow and started playing guitar at the tender age of eight and began writing music soon after. Tom has always had an explorational approach to sound and composition, and his work so far has covered various styles. Tom is interested heavily in forcing material to their extremes and observing their outcomes. He has experience working with both acoustic instruments and electronic sound and has a particularly strong ability to forge creative partnerships through constant collaboration with filmmakers, contemporary artists/performers, and instrumentalists.
As Tom approaches the end of his fourth year at the Royal Conservatoire, he is currently embarking on a new project involving sound and d/Deaf performers. The prize of an Avid Pro Tools Ultimate license will

On Saturday, 18 May, our Managing Director Eric Joseph had the privilege of judging Sound Editing in TV/Movie Production at the Art and Media Showcase Festival, hosted by the University of the West of Scotland. UWS have a reputation for producing excellent work, and this year’s students have been no different.
