Neumann instrument microphones are intended for a wide range of instruments from strings to woodwind, brass to percussion, and are designed for use in broadcast, theatre or stage, or recording studio.

Miniature Clip Mic (MCM) from Neumann uses the KK 14 cardioid condenser capsule along with specific clamping option to 'catch the signature sound' of a wide range of instruments. The KK 14 electret capsule has a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz and a maximum SPL of 153dB. The capsule itself measures 12mm in diameter, 11mm in length, and weighs only 2.3g. It is designed to be used with the SH 150 gooseneck stem, a clip of the user's choice, an MCM cable of the user's choice, and the MCM 100 preamplifier. Although the parts can be ordered as separate items, Neumann produce 'sets' containing all you'd need for a particular instrument type.
