Avid release v3.6.1. for the Pro Tools | S6 consoleApr 07, 2020 - 10:51
S6 owners who spend their time checking their Avid account may have noticed a new addition - an upgrade to v3.6.1.
Word of warning - this requires Pro Tools v12.8, which at the time of writing, has not yet been released.
As well as your normal bug fixes, v3.6.1 supports Dolby Atmos® busing, panning, and metering in Pro Tools, providing intuitive feedback and ergonomic control for Dolby Atmos parameters. Two-dimensional (2D) and 3D/Theater Mode views are available. Combined with Pro Tools v12.8, the integration is quite extensive. If you want a closer look, check out Mediaspec's short instructional video, presented by Avid's Simon Sherbourne.
Other new features include:
- New Features for Expand Faders
- Soft Keys
- Resetting User Preferences to Factory
- Monitoring - Icons for DADman Monitor Tracks
At the time of this writing, S6 Software v3.6.1 is compatible with the following (or higher versions):
- Avid Pro Tools 12.8 (Dolby Atmos® support requires Pro Tools | HD)
- Steinberg Nuendo 7
- Steinberg Cubase 8
- Apple Logic 10
- Merging Pyramix 8.x Native only
- Merging Pyramix 9.x
- Avid Studio Monitor Pro
- Avid XMON S6
- Pro Tools | MTRX
- ProMon (DADman) for Pro Tools | MTRX and NTP Technology AX32
An activation license is required for 3.6.1, which should appear on an eligible account. If you are not covered by a current Avid Support Plan for the S6, talk to a Mediaspec representative to obtain competitive pricing.
