STONEHOUSE VIOLET PREVIEW
Feb 8, 2007
Pic

It was a delighted Bens management team that supervised training this week in the lead up to an important league match at Stonehouse (kick-off 2.00pm). Both were greatly satisfied after the win against Newmains United last Saturday. Frank Lovering and Dennis Donnelly (left) both agreed that the side showed tremendous character to get all three points.

TOMASZ AND KEVIN SIGN ON
Jan 29, 2007

Frank Lovering and Dennis Donnelly have added two players to the squad. 25 year old Polish midfielder Tomasz Lisinski (left) and 20 year old midfielder Kevin McGlinchey both signed before Saturday's West of Scotland Cup tie at Johnstone. Tomasz was an unused substitute, but for Kevin it was an eventful afternoon as he scored Benburb's equaliser after coming on as a substitute after the interval. Kevin also scored Benburb's second penalty in the shootout. Kevin signed from Glasgow Amateurs and in his second spell at Tinto Park after making 10 appearances in 2003.

BENS PAY THE PENALTY
Jan 27, 2007

It was heartbreak for Benburb this afternoon at Keanie Park as they crashed out of the Whyte & MacKay West of Scotland Cup on penalty-kicks. Benburb fought back from losing an early goal to take a 2-1 lead in the second-half with goals from new signing Kevin McGlinchey and Tony O'Neill (left). Johnstone Burgh equalised with only 2 minutes remaining. Further heartache was to follow as Benburb relinquished a two goal lead in the penalty shootout to eventually lose 3-2.
