The draw for the first round of the Scottish Junior Cup was made at Hampden Park this morning. Benburb were handed a home tie against Stagecoach Central District League Second Division rivals Royal Albert Athletic. The tie will be played on Saturday 30 September 2006 with a 3.00pm kick-off.

The last time the sides met in the Scottish Junior Cup was in a fourth round tie at Tinto Park in the year 2000 when Benburb ran out 4-1 winners with goals from McGrotty, McDonald 2 and McFadyen. Benburb eventually reached the semi-final stage where they lost to eventual winners Whitburn on penalty kicks.
