Mediaspec AFC was formed in the year 2002. Prior to that date, the club was known as Larkfield FC. Predominately made up of bus drivers, the management team consisted of former managers, Andy Warnock and Billy Younger.

The team started to rapidly evolve with the arrival of key people such as Rab Mullen, and it wasn't long before a sponsorship deal was struck with computer based company, Mediaspec UK. Mediaspec's Managing Director, Eric Joseph, initially viewed this association as a PR opportunity. However, it quickly became apparent that he had become involved in a club, not only with talented footballers in abundance, but a passionate club with a clear vision for the future.

An injection of funds allowed the club to take their professionalism and ambition to a new level, and Mediaspec AFC was born. By that time, the club had outgrown the Reidvale Camlachie Sunday Morning league and in 2003, the club joined the Glasgow's Sunday Amateur League. As league protocol dictated, Mediaspec started in Division 3, but it wasn't long before they made their mark. An undefeated league run led to the club being crowned league champions, and they now take their rightful place in Division 2.

The 2003/04 season also saw a successful Scottish Cup run. Reaching the quarter finals saw Mediaspec beating first division teams in this highly competitive tournament. It is a small consolation that Mediaspec were beaten in extra time by the team that went on to win the trophy.

As Mediaspec climbed a division in 2004, so did the standard of their home ground. Tinto Park, home of Benburb FC (The Bens), is now the base from which Mediaspec will play their home games. A deal was stuck between the two clubs, and Mediaspec now enjoy the benefits of playing regularly on a Junior ground.

A football club is nothing without a manager. George Kelly, Mediaspec's manger, is the glue that binds the team together. George brings 30 years of experience to the club, and his ambition is to fill a cupboard full of trophies.

So what does the future hold for Mediaspec AFC as they battle in Division 2? We asked the same question in 2003, and it was our ambition that we progressed through the divisions. Nothing has changed.
